Backend Engineer (Kotlin)

Salary: €64,554 gross per year minimum, with the final amount dependent on qualifications and experience.

What you will do

• Evolve shared backend frameworks, platform capabilities, and services for the George digital banking platform.
• Build and maintain CI/CD tooling and automation.
• Improve observability and distributed tracing across the platform.
• Collaborate across teams, run proofs of concept, and share technical knowledge.

Requirements

• Strong professional experience in backend development with Spring Boot.
• Hands-on experience with Kotlin.
• Good understanding of REST APIs, Gradle, and modern CI/CD practices.
• Quality-focused approach to clean code, testing, and clear communication.
• Fluent English, written and spoken, is required.

Nice to have

• Experience building libraries, frameworks, or developer tooling.
• Familiarity with Kafka and event-driven architectures.
• Exposure to observability stacks.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, or AWS.
• Interest in AI-assisted development workflows.
