Head of Training – European Helicopter Training

Location: Burgess Hill, United Kingdom; responsibility across the European helicopter training network, including simulator operations in Oslo, Norway.

What you will do

• Lead the supervision, coordination, and delivery of helicopter ground and flight training across the European fleet.
• Manage, support, and develop approximately 20 contracted Synthetic Flight Instructors.
• Coordinate with Account Executives, Scheduling, Regulatory, Standards, Technical Services, and Fleet Chiefs to ensure effective training delivery.
• Lead quarterly Standards meetings and maintain instructor standardisation and regulatory compliance.
• Develop instructor training plans, annual client course plans, and schedules based on sales projections.
• Manage training resources, simulator data, customer materials, and instructor HR profiles.

Requirements

• Currently valid EASA Airline Transport Pilot Licence, or a licence valid within the past seven years.
• Instructor experience or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience leading and managing teams.
• Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment.
• Strong customer and client orientation, with the ability to adapt to changing operational requirements.
• Availability to work occasional public holidays based on customer needs.

Nice to have

• Experience with additional aviation regulators or regulatory frameworks, including FAA, GCAA, GACA, CAAC, or comparable authorities.
