Director of Product & Design

Location: Berlin, Germany; onsite five days a week

Salary: €130,000–€180,000 per year

What you will do

• Own key product areas end to end, from discovery, problem framing, and prioritisation through design, launch, and iteration.
• Shape product and design strategy with leadership, Engineering, and Data using user insights, competitor analysis, and business goals.
• Lead, coach, and develop the Design team while raising the quality of visual, interaction, and product design.
• Design experiments and use research, metric tracking, and performance data to improve engagement, retention, and monetisation.
• Introduce AI-native workflows for prototyping, research synthesis, and faster product iteration.
• Identify opportunities and ship solutions that improve usability, emotional connection, and user satisfaction.

Requirements

• Extensive experience across product and design in mobile-first B2C products, supported by a portfolio and measurable business impact.
• Experience owning product outcomes, defining problems, setting priorities, writing specifications, and making trade-off decisions.
• Exceptional visual and interaction design skills with strong attention to detail, hierarchy, accessibility, and polish.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and grow a Design team and influence cross-functional teams.
• Strong data-driven approach with experience designing experiments and defining product metrics.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools for discovery, prototyping, and product delivery.

• Experience in a fast-moving lean startup or scale-up environment.
