Firmware Engineer (C)

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain real-time embedded firmware in C for high-performance connectivity silicon.
• Develop low-level drivers, initialization flows, interrupt handling, and control logic for complex hardware blocks.
• Bring up and debug firmware in pre-silicon emulation environments and on production silicon.
• Define hardware/firmware interfaces with architecture, design, verification, and validation teams.
• Develop and extend the COSMOS SDK, including APIs, device management, firmware updates, telemetry, and diagnostics.
• Resolve validation and customer issues while collaborating with product applications, field teams, and firmware groups across sites.

Requirements

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of hands-on firmware engineering experience.
• Proven experience with embedded and real-time firmware development.
• Strong C programming skills on resource-constrained, bare-metal, or RTOS-based systems.
• Understanding of processor architecture, memory-mapped registers, interrupts, and hardware/software interaction.
• Strong real-hardware debugging skills using JTAG debuggers, logs, and register-level analysis.

Nice to have

• Experience with Cadence Palladium or Synopsys ZeBu pre-silicon emulation platforms.
• Knowledge of PCIe link training, enumeration, configuration space, and error handling.
• Experience developing SDKs, host-side libraries, or APIs in C/C++ or Python.
• Experience with new SoC silicon bring-up, customer integration, or field issue support.
• Familiarity with Python test automation, Linux development tools, and CI workflows.
