TL;DR
Senior Staff Software Engineer (AI): Building a zero-to-one oncology care decision platform with an accent on full-stack architecture, LLM-powered capabilities, and safe automated decisioning. Focus on designing Vue and TypeScript interfaces, Python and FastAPI services, AI evaluation and guardrails, and scalable cloud infrastructure for accurate, auditable clinical workflows.
Location: Remote
Salary: $220,000–$260,000 per year, plus bonus eligibility, equity, and benefits.

What you will do
- Set the technical vision and lead a zero-to-one oncology care decision initiative from discovery and prototyping through production launch.
- Partner with clinical, policy, product, operations, and business leaders to translate complex care workflows into reliable software.
- Own architecture across Vue and TypeScript web applications, APIs, services, data models, integrations, AI systems, and AWS infrastructure.
- Design and productionize LLM-powered capabilities including automated decisioning, document understanding, and conversational experiences.
- Define evaluation, prompting, observability, and guardrail standards for accurate, safe, auditable, and defensible automated decisions.
- Raise engineering quality through technical leadership, mentorship, system design, testing, code review, and reusable technical foundations.
Requirements
- Experience setting technical direction for complex software products or platforms from initial concept through production operation.
- Hands-on full-stack experience with Vue, React, or Angular; TypeScript or JavaScript; Python and comparable backend frameworks such as FastAPI.
- Experience designing scalable APIs, data models, and architectures with relational databases such as Postgres.
- Experience operating production services in a cloud environment such as AWS.
- Experience designing and shipping LLM-powered product capabilities with reliable evaluation, observability, and guardrails.
- Strong technical judgment, communication, mentorship, and the ability to make architectural decisions in ambiguous, regulated environments.
