TL;DR
Senior Engineer, Data (Python/Apache Spark): Building backend systems, APIs, data models, and user interfaces for hospital quality reporting with an accent on data interactions, ETL, distributed computing, and automated testing. Focus on optimizing scalable data operations, ensuring data integrity and security, and integrating frontend applications with third-party systems.
Location: Remote within the United States; US citizenship or a Green Card required, along with US residency for at least the past three years. Candidates must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance.

What you will do
- Build backend systems and user interfaces using test-driven development.
- Develop APIs, specifications, and data models for frontend and third-party integrations.
- Design and maintain data interactions while improving performance, scalability, integrity, and security.
- Develop user interfaces based on UX designs and customer needs.
- Contribute to functional and non-functional automated testing suites.
- Scope, estimate, design, and deliver medium-to-large features while supporting team members and reducing technical debt.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong experience with Python and Apache Spark.
- Knowledge of data modeling, ETL, orchestration, distributed computing, software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
- Experience with analytic programming, database and data warehouse querying, data extraction, data analysis, Agile methodologies, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- US citizenship or Green Card, at least three years of US residency, and eligibility for a US Government Public Trust position are required; visa sponsorship is not available.
Nice to have
- AWS experience with S3, EC2, Glue, or Lambda.
- R or SAS experience.
- Professional Databricks or Apache Spark certifications.
