Dual Use In-Orbit Services Project Manager (Aerospace)

The Exploration Company develops, produces, and operates Nyx, a modular and reusable orbital vehicle for cargo transportation and future human missions, alongside new orbital services and spacecraft applications.

What you will do

• Lead the complete development and delivery of orbiters and associated in-orbit service capabilities for defence and dual-use missions.
• Translate customer objectives and operational needs into mission, system, and programme requirements.
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, resources, technical performance, quality objectives, milestones, reviews, and decision gates.
• Drive issue resolution, decision-making, change control, and delivery against technical, cost, schedule, quality, and customer commitments.
• Coordinate industrialisation, procurement, manufacturing, supply-chain activities, and delivery of flight and ground hardware, software, documentation, and operational products.
• Act as the main customer contact and lead multidisciplinary teams across engineering, operations, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, programme management, and business functions.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in aerospace engineering.
• Typically 10 or more years of professional experience in the aerospace or space sector, including substantial project or programme management responsibility.
• Proven experience delivering satellites, orbiters, spacecraft, or other complex space systems end to end.
• Experience delivering flight hardware through integration and test, qualification, launch preparation, or in-orbit operations.
• Customer-facing experience with institutional and defence organisations, ideally including DLR or the German Federal Ministry of Defence.
• Fluency in English and German is required. Strong communication, analytical, organisational, prioritisation, and problem-solving skills are also expected.
