Software Quality Assurance Engineer (Linux, PC, IoT): Building and improving automated and manual testing for Ubuntu Desktop, Server, Core, and certified computing devices with an accent on quality planning, hardware coverage, and reliability. Focus on designing QA processes, isolating and documenting defects, and coordinating testing improvements across distributed engineering teams.

What you will do
- Plan, document, and manage the overall quality planning strategy.
- Improve automated testing through test design and code contributions.
- Perform automated and manual testing of Ubuntu Desktop, Server, and Core across current hardware.
- Identify, isolate, document, and triage product defects, test reports, and customer bugs.
- Collaborate with development and project teams across multiple projects to improve testing and execution.
- Collect quality data, identify process bottlenecks, and establish measures that improve Ubuntu reliability.
Requirements
- Experience with Linux desktop technologies; Ubuntu experience is beneficial.
- Understanding of commercial software QA practices and their integration with Linux community standards.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Shell, Python, or JavaScript.
- Strong logic, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and written and spoken communication skills.
- Strong written and spoken English is required.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a globally distributed team and learn new technologies quickly.
