TL;DR
Mobile Team Tech Lead (iOS/Android): Designing and delivering large-scale mobile banking applications for customer onboarding, account management, and money movement with an accent on native iOS development, software architecture, and regulatory requirements. Focus on leading Agile engineering teams, making architectural decisions, integrating APIs and CI/CD pipelines, and building new mobile capabilities for market expansion.
Location: On-site 5 days per week at the office in London or Birmingham, UK

What you will do
- Own the technical direction and delivery of client engagements as a hands-on mobile technology leader.
- Design, implement, deliver, and test innovative native iOS and Android applications.
- Lead the development of mobile capabilities for consumer banking, including onboarding, account management, and money movement.
- Make architectural decisions and promote engineering best practices, modern technologies, and high-quality software delivery.
- Collaborate with client stakeholders, designers, product partners, and Lab49 leadership.
- Mentor engineers, improve team autonomy, and proactively manage technical and delivery risks.
Requirements
- 10–12+ years of experience designing and building complex commercial-grade software systems.
- 4+ years of experience leading Agile teams.
- Strong Swift and native iOS development experience with SwiftUI, UIKit, SwiftData, and Swift Concurrency.
- Experience in consumer banking, including account management and onboarding.
- Experience integrating RESTful APIs and third-party libraries, with knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Native Android development with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Kotlin Coroutines, and MVI.
- Experience with fraud management, KYC, AML, regulatory reporting, or on-device biometrics.
- A portfolio of released App Store applications and experience with enterprise app distribution.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, Claude Code, or Copilot.
- A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
