Interactive Product Designer (Interactive Systems): Designing and developing interactive products, narrative systems, and technical prototypes with an accent on hardware/software integration, research, and user testing. What you will do
- Design and develop interactive products, narrative systems, and technical prototypes.
- Program and integrate hardware and software components for interactive systems.
- Apply software and systems engineering principles to troubleshoot and optimize prototypes.
- Research relevant technologies, plan user testing, collect feedback, and improve interactive experiences.
- Collaborate with faculty, researchers, stakeholders, and interdisciplinary project partners.
- Document development processes, testing procedures, findings, presentations, and project summaries.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least two years of related experience.
- Knowledge of software development and computer systems.
- Ability to develop, test, and troubleshoot technical prototypes and conduct technical research.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with faculty, researchers, and stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Programming experience with C/C++, Python, or similar languages.
- Experience with hardware/software integration, embedded systems, robotics, or interactive technologies.
- Experience with software or system testing and troubleshooting.
- Experience working in a research lab.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or electrical engineering.
