Director, Editorial Systems (Sports)

Location: Hybrid role based at the Stamford, Connecticut facility, with a minimum of four office days per week. Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States is required.

Salary: $125,000–$150,000 per year, plus bonus and long-term incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Transform editorial systems supporting NBC Sports, the Olympics, and other major sporting events across platforms.
• Improve how information is captured, entered, organized, and delivered in real time for talent and production teams.
• Lead editorial research integration, troubleshoot systems during live workflows, and adapt processes as needed.
• Partner with editorial leadership, internal departments, and external vendors to enable innovation in other content areas.
• Lead workshops, demonstrations, and training for NBC Sports talent and production stakeholders.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in a premier sports environment, including editorial, research, or information systems work.
• Experience leading complex initiatives, change efforts, or business-critical projects in a matrixed organization.
• Ability to collaborate across stakeholders, manage competing priorities, and work independently with limited supervision.
• Experience working under tight deadlines where accuracy and speed are both essential.
• Experience with editorial data lifecycles, dynamic databases, reporting outputs, troubleshooting, and data-driven insights.
• Must be willing to work from the Stamford facility, maintain unrestricted U.S. work authorization, and work varying schedules including weekends.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience with NBC Sports, Olympics, media, news, editorial environments, on-air talent, and production leadership.
• Ability to combine raw data with narrative and editorial analysis across teams.
• Understanding of analytics used by elite athletes and coaches to evaluate performance.
