TL;DR
Machine Learning Engineer (AI) (Python/LLMs): Building and deploying predictive models and personalization capabilities for text-based marketing products with an accent on NLP, ranking, classification, and real-time inference. Focus on owning medium-sized ML features end-to-end, operationalizing APIs, monitoring model quality, and experimenting with LLMs and live A/B/N testing.
Location: Dundee, Scotland; hybrid with two days per week in the Dundee office

What you will do
- Own medium-sized machine learning features end-to-end, from problem framing and data preparation through model development, deployment, and monitoring.
- Develop predictive models for classification, ranking, and personalization using text data.
- Apply LLMs and other modern machine learning techniques to improve product capabilities.
- Operationalize models as APIs for real-time and batch environments.
- Monitor production models, resolve data quality issues, and address model degradation.
- Collaborate with product, MLOps, and software engineering teams on research, planning, experimentation, and production support.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field, or 1–4 years of professional experience building and deploying machine learning models.
- Strong understanding of supervised and unsupervised learning, model evaluation, feature engineering, and common machine learning algorithms.
- Strong Python and SQL skills, including experience with pandas and NumPy.
- Experience with Git, Docker, scikit-learn, PyTorch or TensorFlow, and machine learning pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with text data, NLP techniques, cloud technologies, data storage solutions, and Snowflake.
- Must be eligible to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not available. The role requires attendance at the Dundee office two days per week.
Nice to have
- Experience with personalization, predictive CRM, micro-segmentation, recommendation algorithms, or gaming and sports betting domains.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Bicep.
- Understanding of responsible AI practices, including data privacy, bias and fairness, and explainability.
