TL;DR
IT Infrastructure Engineer (Windows, Active Directory & VMware): Designing, implementing, and maintaining global Windows and Linux infrastructure supporting clinical research operations with an accent on virtualization, server administration, PKI, backup, and enterprise infrastructure services. Focus on leading infrastructure projects, troubleshooting complex systems, optimizing performance, and executing patching and upgrades.
Location: Budapest, Hungary; full-time employment based in Hungary

What you will do
- Design, implement, maintain, and continuously improve Windows and Linux server infrastructure.
- Manage virtualization, storage, backup, disaster recovery, monitoring, patch management, configuration management, and access control platforms.
- Administer Windows Active Directory and Public Key Infrastructure, and support enterprise applications, email, and business systems.
- Plan and execute operating system patching, infrastructure upgrades, qualification, validation, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Lead small and medium-sized infrastructure projects and contribute to larger cross-domain initiatives with Network & Connectivity and Cloud & Modern Workplace teams.
- Maintain infrastructure documentation, asset inventories, warranties, system standards, and vendor coordination.
Requirements
- University degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Full professional proficiency in English, written and spoken.
- Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server and Active Directory, plus practical Windows and/or Linux server administration experience.
- Experience with virtualization, enterprise infrastructure services such as PKI and email/MTA technologies, backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Experience designing, implementing, and managing infrastructure projects, monitoring, patch management, and configuration management.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and maintain detailed technical documentation.
Nice to have
- Experience with VMware, Proxmox, Hyper-V, Microsoft Azure, hybrid infrastructure, Azure Arc, or Azure Update Manager.
- Experience with Zabbix, PowerShell, infrastructure automation, Microsoft Exchange, Sendmail, Postfix, Veeam, or similar technologies.
- Familiarity with ITIL, change management, qualification, validation processes, and relevant infrastructure certifications.
