Java Software Engineer I (Payments)

Location: Bucharest, Romania

hirify.global develops payment technology and operates an ecommerce payments gateway for global commerce.

What you will do

• Develop changes in Java and PL/SQL for an ecommerce payments gateway.
• Review payment-processing business processes, production data, product code, and payments-industry specifications to scope and specify work.
• Partner with test engineers to define test coverage and contribute to automated integration and system testing.
• Design rollout and monitoring approaches for new features.
• Participate in code reviews, pair with engineers, and support release deployments on a rota outside normal office hours.

Requirements

• Experience delivering software in precision-critical industries and solving complex business problems.
• Knowledge of Java or a related object-oriented programming language.
• Knowledge of OOP design patterns and SOLID development principles.
• Ability to write code that interacts effectively with large databases, preferably SQL-based Oracle systems.
• Experience with large codebases, version control systems, and Linux in development and production environments.

Nice to have

• Financial services industry knowledge.
• Familiarity with Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, and other agile methodologies.
• Experience with cloud technologies.
• Knowledge of enterprise compute, storage, and networking technologies.
