2027 Foundation Phase Isizulu and Afrikaans Teacher (Midrand)

Location: Midrand Campus, Northriding, Gauteng, South Africa; onsite teaching role starting in January 2027

What you will do

• Design impactful lessons with learning designers and deliver engaging, technology-supported enquiry-based instruction.
• Lead Foundation Phase classroom instruction and create a rigorous, joyful learning environment.
• Assess student progress, provide feedback, and adapt content and teaching techniques based on assessment data.
• Observe, coach, and model effective teaching for apprentice teachers.
• Collaborate with Deans of Instruction, learning designers, committees, and teaching teams through regular meetings and professional development.
• Communicate with parents, participate in co-curricular activities, and fulfil assigned supervision and event duties.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a bachelor’s degree plus a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
• SACE registration and a valid SACE certificate.
• Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing isiZulu and Afrikaans is required.
• Ability to lead a classroom independently and understanding of student-centered, enquiry-based learning.
• Ability to use technology for instruction and collaborate effectively in a team.
• Valid police clearance issued within the last six months, ID copy or passport, and work permit if applicable.

Nice to have

• Experience with or understanding of Cambridge curriculum objectives.
• Strong understanding of the developmental needs of the relevant age group.
