Junior Kotlin / Java Software Engineer - Custody (Fintech)

Location: Munich, Germany, with an opportunity to work from abroad and international relocation support if required

What you will do

• Develop and evolve business-critical custody and financial workflow services using Kotlin, Java and Spring Boot.
• Work in cross-functional teams with experienced engineers and contribute to agile delivery, Domain-Driven Design and code reviews.
• Build and operate cloud-native applications on AWS, including containerised ECS services and event-driven Lambda workloads.
• Support reliable delivery through infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, observability and monitoring.
• Write clean, secure, maintainable and well-tested code and contribute improvements to production systems.

Requirements

• Relevant university degree, comparable qualification or equivalent practical experience.
• Practical experience with Kotlin or Java and Spring Boot through internships, working-student roles, personal projects or university projects.
• Understanding of object-oriented programming, API development, relational databases and automated testing.
• Interest in Domain-Driven Design, cloud-native development, distributed systems and AWS.
• Quality and security mindset, clear communication, collaboration and openness to feedback.
• Interest in complex financial workflows and motivation to learn quickly.

Nice to have

• Experience with infrastructure as code, CI/CD, observability or monitoring.
