What you will do
- Develop an analytical and final report on sustainable management of highly mineralized mine water in the Kryvyi Rih Iron Ore Basin.
- Review international examples addressing the discharge of highly mineralized effluents into natural water bodies.
- Analyze water samples for macro-components, heavy metals, aluminum, nitrogen compounds, phosphorus compounds, and organic matter.
- Evaluate technological, engineering, and regulatory options for preventing effluent discharges into the Inhulets River.
- Assess technologies for extracting valuable components from mineralized waters through comparative cost-benefit analysis.
- Identify possible uses for extracted valuable or useful chemical components while coordinating with national experts.
Requirements
- Second-level university degree in Environmental Law, Ecology, Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 8 years of professional experience in environmental issues, the chemical industry, or a related field.
- Professional experience in international environmental activities and a strong understanding of international standardization processes.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, writing, drafting, teamwork, and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
- Excellent English knowledge and communication skills are required.
- Digital literacy and proficient use of Microsoft Office; experience with Ukraine is an asset.
Nice to have
- Professional fluency in Russian and Ukrainian.
- Familiarity with technical committees and international standardization work.
- Experience working on Ukraine.
