Partnerships and Private Sector Engagement Manager (Humanitarian): Developing and implementing partnership strategies while managing relationships with civil society organisations, private sector actors, academic institutions, and public authorities with an accent on localisation, compliance, and partner capacity strengthening. Focus on overseeing due diligence, partner selection, agreement management, audits, donor requirements, and coordination across humanitarian programmes in Ethiopia.

Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Duty station in Addis Ababa with travel of up to 40%.

What you will do

  • Develop and implement the Ethiopia Partnership Strategy and related standard operating procedures.
  • Build and maintain relationships with civil society organisations, private sector actors, academic institutions, and public authorities.
  • Manage the full partnership lifecycle, including due diligence, partner selection, capacity assessments, agreements, compliance monitoring, and audits.
  • Coordinate with specialists, area programme managers, project managers, and finance teams to ensure compliant and effective partnerships.
  • Strengthen partner capacity on donor requirements, compliance regulations, reporting deadlines, and NRC procedures.
  • Advise colleagues and leadership on partnership decisions, knowledge sharing, and localisation.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in humanitarian, recovery, human rights, or development contexts.
  • University degree combined with relevant professional experience.
  • Experience managing and implementing programmes in humanitarian contexts, including private sector engagement and partnership coordination.
  • Knowledge of humanitarian principles and the Ethiopian civil society and private sector context.
  • Excellent networking, coordination, training, facilitation, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Fluency in English and Amharic, both written and verbal, is required.

Nice to have

  • Experience working in complex and volatile contexts.
  • Programme management background.
  • Experience in NRC thematic areas such as ICLA, Shelter, LFS, Protection, or Education.
