Site Reliability Engineer (Video Platform)

Location: Sydney; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days a week

USDS Joint Venture operates TikTok's U.S. data privacy, cybersecurity, safety, and content ecosystem programs.

What you will do

• Own the reliability of TikTok's video publishing and distribution systems.
• Manage production system lifecycles, including changes, deployments, operations, and emergency response.
• Monitor services, respond to incidents, and follow up on production issues to maintain service-level agreements.
• Manage compute, storage, and network capacity to improve stability and infrastructure efficiency.
• Support major events and high-volume Internet traffic.
• Build operational tools, automations, visualizations, and monitoring for global infrastructure.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• Programming experience with at least one of C, C++, Java, Python, C#, or Go.
• Knowledge of networking, operating systems, databases, and container technology.
• Understanding of microservice architecture and hands-on troubleshooting experience with large-scale distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with Linux, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, and ELK.
• Ability to work fully in person in Sydney, up to five days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience building solutions with AWS, GCP, Azure, or other cloud services.
