Data Tech Lead Manager (Data Engineering)

Location: San Jose, United States; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days a week

Salary: $208,800–$438,000 annually, plus potential bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Lead and manage data engineers, data analysts, and data SRE professionals.
• Design, build, and operate scalable realtime and batch data pipelines for the video platform.
• Optimize large-scale data processing systems for performance, reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Define architecture standards covering data modeling, pipeline design, data quality, lakes, warehouses, and lakehouse patterns.
• Own end-to-end delivery of data solutions from design through deployment, testing, and optimization.
• Partner with product, business, and video SRE teams while defining metrics and ensuring data governance, privacy, and security compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience building and scaling enterprise-grade data platforms, including 3+ years in engineering leadership or management.
• Hands-on experience with Hadoop, HDFS, YARN, Spark, Flink, Hive, ClickHouse, or comparable distributed data technologies.
• Strong SQL and Python skills for data processing and analytics.
• Knowledge of data pipeline and workflow management tools such as Airflow or Luigi.
• Must work onsite in San Jose, with an in-person schedule of up to 5 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience optimizing large-scale data systems for performance, efficiency, and cost reduction.
• Experience in video streaming business.
• Experience building data solutions with AWS, GCP, Azure, or other cloud services.
• Ability to influence data strategy and align cross-functional teams.
