What you will do
- Develop contracting strategies for prime contracts, major subcontracts, and purchase orders.
- Administer claims, variations, delays, subcontract execution, and other commercial activities.
- Prepare and review estimates, project information, contractual notices, entitlement letters, and supporting documentation.
- Monitor project financial performance, commercial risks, cash flow, contractual compliance, and financial targets.
- Negotiate subcontracts and purchase orders while ensuring appropriate risk allocation and commercial terms.
- Collaborate with project, legal, procurement, subcontract, and specialist teams on claims, training, procedures, and lessons learned.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in business, engineering, law, finance, management, or quantity surveying.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience with contractors, subcontractors, and owners on defence, government infrastructure, or engineering projects.
- Strong understanding of government and defence contract requirements and complexities.
- Experience in commercial management for infrastructure, engineering consulting, construction, or building projects.
- Experience submitting contractual notices, processing variations, and managing extensions of time.
- Strong commercial judgment, contract cost-tracking ability, attention to compliance, and risk-mitigation skills.
