Location: Remote role associated with locations in Farmington Hills and Livonia, Michigan; Davenport, Iowa; Maywood, Illinois; and Syracuse, New York
Salary: $19.5965–$29.3948 per hour

What you will do
- Perform daily medical billing and follow-up activities for government and commercial accounts.
- Document billed, paid, settled, rejected, and pending claims in the appropriate systems.
- Contact patients and third-party payers to investigate payment delays, underpayments, overpayments, and credit balances.
- Research claim rejections, correct billing issues, and route cases to the appropriate workflows or colleagues.
- Coordinate with hospital departments to clarify billing, demographic, clinical, financial, and insurance information.
- Train Billing and Follow-Up Representative I colleagues and provide issue resolution support.
Requirements
- High school diploma or associate degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field, plus at least three years of relevant experience.
- Experience with revenue cycle functions, medical claims processing, financial counseling, financial clearance, accounting, or customer service in a healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, accuracy, attention-to-detail, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and operate in a collaborative environment.
- Ability to perform billing and follow-up activities accurately and promptly while complying with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
