What you will do
- Support functional arrayed genomic screens in advanced in vitro models with therapeutic area partners.
- Perform mammalian cell culture, transfection, transduction, and functional assays; iPSC culture and differentiation are relevant to the work.
- Optimize and miniaturize cell-based assays for automated high-throughput screening.
- Use functional assays and high-content imaging to profile cellular phenotypes and states.
- Collaborate with automation specialists and cross-functional scientists to improve model deployment and reproducibility.
- Define biologically relevant requirements and deliver experimental systems that support mechanistic and translational insights.
Requirements
- Master’s degree plus at least 1 year of scientific or drug discovery experience, or bachelor’s degree plus at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Scientific excellence and productivity demonstrated through prior research or drug discovery work.
- Proficiency with mammalian cell culture, including immortalized and primary cell lines.
- Experience with gene editing and delivery techniques such as CRISPR/Cas9, lentiviral transduction, and transient transfection.
- Experience optimizing cellular assays, plate-based assays, high-content imaging, and high-throughput screening metrics.
- Strong organizational, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills in a matrixed research environment.
Nice to have
- Experience with iPSC culture and differentiation.
- Master’s degree in cell biology, molecular biology, biomedical engineering, or a related discipline.
- Familiarity with screening metrics such as Z’, S/B, and MSMR.
