TL;DR
Data Scientist (IoT): Designing data mining and modeling processes, predictive models, and customer-facing analytics for connected transportation products with an accent on machine learning, big data infrastructure, and business intelligence. Focus on building algorithms from large datasets, testing data-driven products, and developing metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards for business decisions.
Location: Hybrid positions in Toronto or Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. Flexible arrangements support both in-person and virtual work.
Annual base salary: $104,400–$135,700 CAD.

What you will do
- Design and construct data mining, data modeling, and data warehousing processes.
- Create algorithms and predictive machine learning models to solve complex business problems.
- Query large datasets through BigQuery and support ad hoc and automated data access.
- Develop machine learning models and features using Scikit-learn and TensorFlow.
- Test data-driven products and recommend improvements to the product suite.
- Build and maintain metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, and departmental documentation while collaborating with technical teams.
Requirements
- 1–5 years of experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar role.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of Python, SQL, C++, and object-oriented programming.
- Knowledge of big data, data mining, data warehousing, machine learning, and operations research.
- Experience with BigQuery, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, business intelligence tools such as Tableau, and data frameworks.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, teamwork, and attention-to-detail skills.
