Container Solution Architect (Azure/Kubernetes)

Location: Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane, or Melbourne, Australia. The role prioritizes in-person collaboration and requires standard business hours.

What you will do

• Design enterprise container strategies, roadmaps, architecture standards, reusable patterns, and deployment models.
• Lead Azure container platform initiatives, including AKS architecture, governance, networking, identity, storage, registries, and operational controls.
• Drive cloud modernization and migration from traditional infrastructure to containerized solutions across distributed environments.
• Lead technical and cross-functional teams, review container architectures, mentor engineers, and present recommendations to executive and technical stakeholders.
• Design hybrid and multi-cloud container strategies, including interoperability between Azure and on-premises platforms such as OpenShift.
• Establish security, observability, monitoring, logging, tracing, disaster recovery, cost optimization, and CI/CD automation standards.

Requirements

• Must be an Australian citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance. NV1 eligibility is highly desirable.
• 10+ years of IT architecture and infrastructure design experience, including 5+ years in enterprise architecture and cloud architecture.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience with containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
• At least 3 years of hands-on Azure and AKS experience, with expert-level proficiency required.
• Experience with federal government or similarly regulated environments, security architecture, compliance, and technical leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience; required Azure certification such as AZ-305 or AZ-104 plus additional Azure certifications.

Nice to have

• OpenShift or Red Hat container technology experience.
• CKA, CKAD, or equivalent Kubernetes certification.
• Experience with Azure Government, FedRAMP, service mesh technologies, or DevOps transformation.
• Federal compliance certifications or prior DoD/IC experience.
