Autonomy Engineering Specialist - Perception (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: Full-time onsite at the Irving, Texas office; up to 10% travel required. Domestic relocation assistance is available.

Salary: $128,470–$208,770 per year

What you will do

• Develop, implement, integrate, and test perception modules for autonomous and operator-assisted driving systems.
• Solve perception challenges for mobile off-road machines using sensor fusion, object detection, tracking, classification, and 3D mapping.
• Lead developers in designing high-quality, production-ready perception software.
• Document software architecture, designs, verification plans, test cases, operating procedures, and safety procedures.
• Collect and analyze customer and machine data and participate in iterative machine-learning training cycles.
• Debug, verify, validate, and maintain perception software across robotic and manned platforms.

Requirements

• Experience with modular perception machine learning and sensor fusion for autonomous vehicles or robotics; typically 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Hands-on experience with camera images, lidar, 4D radar point clouds, IMU, GNSS, and machine-state data.
• Strong knowledge of computer vision, deep learning, object detection, drivable-area understanding, ground-plane segmentation, tracking, classification, and fusion.
• Excellent C++ and fluent Python skills, with strong software engineering, debugging, and code-quality practices.
• Experience with Agile development, software validation, machine safety, and production-quality autonomous systems.
• Visa sponsorship is not available; full-time work at the Irving, Texas office is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with off-road autonomy and advanced operator-assist systems.
• Experience with ROS/AIS, OpenCV, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Git, CMake, Docker, and GoogleTest.
• Experience with Azure DevOps or Jira and AWS services such as EC2, S3, and Batch.
