Software Dev Engineer II (AI): Building and operating distributed systems for spam detection, abuse prevention, traffic shaping, and high-volume message delivery with an accent on reliability, resilience, performance, and cloud-native infrastructure. Focus on designing high-throughput services, applying machine learning and AI-assisted development, troubleshooting production failures, and simplifying complex components under minimal guidance.
Location: United States of America. Flexible hybrid work is available; occasional attendance at in-person events or team sessions may be required.
Salary: $111,000–$231,250 per year, with possible discretionary annual bonus or commissions.

What you will do
- Build and operate distributed systems for inbound protection, entity reputation, traffic shaping, and message delivery.
- Develop, validate, and deploy readable, testable backend code using AI-assisted development tools.
- Troubleshoot failures and tune performance across high-throughput services.
- Design and simplify system components under minimal guidance.
- Review peer code, provide constructive feedback, and support estimation.
- Contribute to cloud-native modernization and reliable production infrastructure.
Requirements
- BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field, with strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and networking.
- 3+ years of backend software development experience with Java, Go, or C++; Java is the primary team language.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools and hands-on machine learning or AI coding.
- Knowledge of IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and experience with AWS or GCP.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and high-performing server applications on Unix/Linux.
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, performance-tuning, communication, and code-review skills.
Nice to have
- Network programming, client/server architecture, cloud security, scalability, and performance optimization experience.
- High-availability distributed systems and big data experience with Hadoop, HBase, or Spark.
- Experience with Kafka, Apache Storm, PostgreSQL, Python, Perl, or Ruby.
- Knowledge of Scrum and Agile methodologies.
