What you will do
- Maintain laboratory equipment and document completed maintenance.
- Operate automated tissue processors, stainers, and coverslippers.
- Perform routine histology workflows independently and produce consistent, high-quality finished products.
- Track completed work in a custom Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Collaborate with laboratory colleagues to meet sample turnaround times.
- Maintain laboratory work areas, including general upkeep and restocking.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Knowledge of CAP regulations and experience working with laboratory SOPs and protocols.
- Comfort with laboratory safety requirements and training.
- Problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Responsibilities include xylene exposure; exposure is monitored within recommended guidelines, and additional PPE may be required for individuals with respiratory conditions.
