TL;DR
Process Engineer I (Medical Devices): Supporting manufacturing processes for polymer-based materials used in suture manufacturing with an accent on process optimization, equipment implementation, validation, and regulatory compliance. Focus on troubleshooting production issues, developing statistical process controls, qualifying equipment, and transferring new manufacturing processes into operations.

Location: North Haven, Connecticut, United States; 5 days a week onsite

Salary: $71,200–$106,800 per year, plus eligibility for a short-term incentive plan

What you will do

  • Provide technical and sustaining engineering support for manufacturing operations in a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Recommend and implement equipment and process modifications to improve quality, production efficiency, manufacturing techniques, and yields.
  • Support process development, equipment implementation, troubleshooting, validation, engineering studies, and new product introduction.
  • Develop and optimize manufacturing concepts, processes, procedures, tooling, fixtures, and equipment for transfer into production.
  • Apply statistical process control, measurement systems, and data analysis to manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Operations, Engineering, and product development teams to ensure compliant and manufacturable designs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 0+ years of relevant experience.
  • Unrestricted U.S. work authorization is required at the time of hire and throughout employment; sponsorship is not available for this role.
  • Ability to work onsite five days per week in North Haven, Connecticut.
  • Ability to analyze data and apply problem-solving methods to process, equipment, or product issues.
  • Knowledge or experience with regulated manufacturing, process validation, equipment qualification, engineering studies, or new product introduction.
  • For degrees earned outside the United States, the degree must meet the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A).

Nice to have

  • Internship, co-op, research, or employment experience in manufacturing, process development, laboratory, or engineering projects.
  • Experience with Minitab, JMP, Excel, MATLAB, or similar engineering, statistical, or data analysis tools.
  • Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
