Traineeship for a Language Technologist/Terminologist (AI)

Grant: €1,170 per month plus an accommodation allowance

The hirify.global is a public European institution providing multilingual language, communication, and terminology services in support of central banking and banking supervision.

What you will do

• Test computer-assisted translation tools, translation management software, and customisations before deployment.
• Prepare and review end-user guides and technical documentation.
• Maintain translation memories and create terminology entries in MultiTerm.
• Prepare bilingual data for a domain-specific machine translation engine.
• Assess the suitability of generative AI and large language models for translation and editing tasks.
• Contribute to language technology and terminology projects in collaboration with publications and information systems teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in language technology, terminology, translation studies, computational linguistics, or a related field.
• Practical experience with terminology management and translation memory software, such as the RWS Trados suite.
• Experience with machine translation software, AI, prompting, and large language models in translation or editing.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• C1 English and B1 in at least one other official EU language.
• Eligibility as an EU national for the ECB traineeship programme.

• Interest in financial and economic affairs or banking supervision.
