Principal Frontend Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Define and evolve frontend architecture for web applications, shared platforms, design systems, and backend-for-frontend integrations.
• Design and ship production-grade applications using TypeScript, React, Next.js, and modern browser technologies.
• Build reusable component libraries and design systems that improve consistency, accessibility, and delivery speed.
• Drive performance, reliability, observability, security, testing, CI/CD, and release practices for frontend applications.
• Integrate REST APIs, GraphQL, WebSockets, server-sent events, and event-driven backend services.
• Lead architecture and code reviews, mentor senior engineers, and collaborate with Product, Design, Backend, AI/ML, Security, and Platform Engineering.

Requirements

• Strong frontend fundamentals across JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, browser behavior, accessibility, and responsive application design.
• Experience shipping and operating complex production applications with React and Next.js.
• Experience making architecture decisions across large frontend codebases, shared libraries, and multi-team environments.
• Practical experience with design systems, reusable component libraries, SSR, SSG, hydration, caching, performance profiling, and Core Web Vitals.
• Experience with state management, REST, GraphQL, WebSockets, event-driven services, and automated testing.
• Strong debugging, communication, ownership, security, reliability, maintainability, and technical leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Vue.js, micro frontends, Module Federation, progressive web applications, or multi-tenant frontend platforms.
• Exposure to Node.js, backend-for-frontend services, cloud-native infrastructure, containers, or Kubernetes.
• Experience with high-traffic, regulated, or high-availability enterprise applications.
• Exposure to AI-powered user experiences, LLM integrations, streaming interfaces, or human-in-the-loop workflows.
• Open-source contributions, published technical work, or frontend engineering community leadership.
