PS Superintendent Specialised (Surveillance) (Security Surveillance): Supervising central surveillance operations across CCTV, body-scanning, X-ray, access-control, alarm-monitoring, and product-movement systems with an accent on risk detection, incident response, evidence handling, and employee supervision. Focus on analysing suspicious activity, coordinating emergency responses, supporting investigations, and improving surveillance controls and procedures.
Location: 1 Edam Avenue, Rustenburg, South Africa; onsite role with occasional travel requirements.

What you will do
- Supervise shift activities across CCTV, body-scanning, X-ray, electronic access, alarm monitoring, and product-movement tracking.
- Monitor high-risk areas and analyse footage, employee behaviour, system alerts, and movement data to identify security breaches, procedural deviations, and safety concerns.
- Coordinate incident and emergency responses, escalate alarms and discrepancies, and maintain communication with relevant stakeholders.
- Review footage, gather and preserve evidence, prepare statements and reports, and support disciplinary or criminal proceedings.
- Allocate work, conduct shift briefings, supervise attendance and performance, and coach surveillance employees.
- Maintain surveillance records and system integrity while supporting audits, contingency planning, technology implementation, and security improvements.
Requirements
- Grade 12 and an NQF Level 5 qualification in Investigation, Policing, Security, Law, or a related field.
- PSIRA Grade A registration and a valid EB/Code 08 driver’s licence.
- At least five years of experience in security, surveillance, or a related environment, including three years in control-room, surveillance, or central-monitoring operations.
- Experience with CCTV, body-scanner or X-ray monitoring, alarm systems, incident response, evidence gathering, footage review, and reporting.
- Knowledge of surveillance operations, behavioural analysis, investigations, emergency response, security legislation, VPSHR, Use of Force requirements, and operational procedures.
- Medical fitness, no criminal record, successful polygraph assessment, relevant assessments, and effective spoken and written English are required.
