Senior Go Developer

Location: Fully remote for candidates in the EU, Georgia, Armenia, Serbia, or Kazakhstan; working time zone: CET.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and reliable Go backend services for a ride-hailing passenger experience.
• Research technical solutions, design architectures, and implement new backend features for evolving product requirements.
• Own the service lifecycle, including delivery, production monitoring, maintenance, and reliability improvements.
• Set up and maintain observability infrastructure covering metrics, logging, dashboards, tracing, alerting, and profiling.
• Collaborate across teams, participate in code reviews and architecture discussions, and mentor other engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial backend engineering experience in production environments.
• Strong Go expertise, including concurrency, synchronization, context propagation, goroutine lifecycle management, and graceful shutdown.
• Experience with high-load distributed systems, microservices, synchronous and asynchronous communication, gRPC, message brokers, delivery guarantees, idempotency, and load balancing.
• Strong SQL and data modelling skills with MySQL or PostgreSQL, including schema design, query analysis, indexing, replication, partitioning, and sharding.
• Experience with Redis caching, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, observability, SLA/SLO/SLI, and maintainable unit and integration testing.
• English at intermediate level and availability to work in the CET time zone.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kafka, NATS, or RabbitMQ and event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools and Go performance profiling using pprof and trace.
• Experience with design handoff tools, cross-platform collaboration workflows, or AI-assisted development tools.
