Security Tech Lead Manager

Location: Hybrid work with a minimum of two days per week in the office; offices are located in Amsterdam and Lisbon.

What you will do

• Manage and develop a team of 2–3 security engineers, including performance reviews, career development, hiring, onboarding, and feedback.
• Own and prioritize the security engineering roadmap based on risk, business needs, and team capacity.
• Build security controls and automation, review code, and guide technical decisions across applications, cloud infrastructure, and software delivery.
• Lead threat modelling, security reviews, vulnerability prioritization, and remediation tracking with Product and Platform Engineering.
• Improve CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code security checks, including dependency and secret scanning.
• Coordinate security contributions to incident response and investigations, and communicate risks, progress, and trade-offs to technical and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• Substantial hands-on security engineering experience in a software or cloud environment, with production security capabilities.
• Previous experience managing engineers as direct reports while remaining technically involved.
• Experience owning a security roadmap or programme and coordinating delivery across engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of application and cloud security, identity and access management, secrets management, and secure software development.
• Experience with threat modelling, secure code and design reviews, vulnerability prioritization, and practical incident response.
• Ability to develop or automate in Ruby, Python, Go, or a similar language, and review backend code.

Nice to have

• Experience with Google Cloud, Kubernetes, Terraform, or similar infrastructure tooling.
• Experience in a marketplace, e-commerce, or other software product business, including account and API security.
• Experience securing AI-enabled applications, agents, or data pipelines, or using AI in security engineering workflows.
