TL;DR
Data Analyst & SW Developer (Databricks): Administering and automating Databricks environments across development, testing, and production with an accent on workspace governance, access management, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD. What you will do
- Administer Databricks environments across DEV, TEST, and PROD, including users, roles, permissions, workspaces, clusters, jobs, and SQL Warehouses.
- Support identity provisioning through Azure AD and AWS IAM and collaborate on connectivity, storage access, and cloud security.
- Manage Unity Catalog governance, data ownership, access controls, compliance, and audit requirements.
- Support CI/CD deployments, Git-based workflows, infrastructure automation, and lifecycle management across environments.
- Monitor platform usage, track costs, identify optimization opportunities, and maintain tagging and cost-allocation practices.
- Troubleshoot platform issues, coordinate with support teams, and maintain operational documentation and internal guidelines.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 1 year of experience as a Data Platform Engineer.
- Hands-on Databricks administration experience, including Unity Catalog, Account Console, and Workspace Administration.
- Strong proficiency in Terraform, Databricks CLI, Databricks Asset Bundles, REST APIs, Python, and Bash.
- Knowledge of Azure cloud services, or AWS/GCP networking, security, and access management.
- Strong written and spoken English is required. Good communication, analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and collaboration skills are also expected.
Nice to have
- Databricks certifications, including Databricks Certified Data Engineer or Databricks Platform Administrator.
- Cloud certifications such as Microsoft Azure Data Engineer Associate or AWS Solutions Architect.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms or DevOps environments.
- Experience with GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, or similar CI/CD platforms.
