TL;DR
Liquidity Risk Associate (Risk) (Financial Markets): Developing and overseeing liquidity risk frameworks for European entities with an accent on stress testing, regulatory metrics, limit governance, and risk analytics. Focus on modeling liquidity risks under stress scenarios, engaging with European regulators, and challenging risk-taking activities and assumptions.

Location: Frankfurt, Hessen, Germany; onsite role in the Frankfurt office.

What you will do

  • Develop a detailed understanding of the firm’s liquidity risk under different scenarios and challenge qualitative assumptions.
  • Model, calibrate, and implement liquidity risk assumptions with engineering teams across stress scenarios.
  • Help develop and implement the liquidity risk governance framework, including limits, breach remediation, and escalation workflows.
  • Monitor and explain liquidity risks for European entities to internal stakeholders and risk leadership.
  • Liaise with European and regional regulators on liquidity risk, regulatory interpretations, data requests, and advocacy discussions.
  • Support regulatory initiatives including ILAAP, contingency funding plans, and recovery planning.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in capital markets, preferably in risk, treasury, funding-related, or regulatory functions.
  • Strong academic background, quantitative skills, and understanding of financial markets and risk management.
  • Strong understanding of European liquidity rules and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently, form sound judgments, provide insights, and drive change.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across departments and seniority levels.
  • Prior experience dealing with regulators is desirable; German language skills are desirable.
