TL;DR
Senior Software Engineer (Unity): Developing and optimizing games and game production tools for external studios with an accent on Unity Engine technologies, cross-platform development, and customer-facing technical problem-solving. Focus on profiling CPU, GPU, and memory usage, debugging multithreaded C# or C++ code, and solving complex performance and rendering challenges across mobile, PC, and console platforms.

Location: Tokyo, Japan

Annual salary: ¥8,812,200–¥13,218,200 JPY gross

hirify.global develops a leading game engine used to create, deploy, and operate games and real-time 3D experiences across games and industries.

What you will do

  • Develop games and game production tools with external customer teams.
  • Scope, estimate, and support planning for customer projects.
  • Collaborate with hirify.global’s internal development teams and provide customer feedback and production verification for hirify.global technologies and services.
  • Solve technical problems, communicate solutions, and educate customers remotely and at their offices.
  • Visit customers for short-term consultations and advise on improving existing projects.
  • Maintain current expertise in hirify.global Engine and game content creation technologies.

Requirements

  • Experience across a variety of game projects and platforms, including mobile, PC, or console.
  • Ability to develop and debug large multithreaded C# or C++ codebases using a multiplatform engine.
  • Deep hirify.global expertise, including ScriptableObjects, Addressables, hirify.global Lifecycle, and URP/HDRP render pipelines.
  • Experience profiling and optimizing CPU, GPU, and memory usage with hirify.global Profiler, Frame Debugger, and RenderDoc.
  • Ability to mentor, document technical solutions, coordinate work, and explain complex topics to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Professional Japanese communication skills are required for written reports and spoken communication with customers. Professional English communication is required for regular exchanges with worldwide colleagues and partners.

Nice to have

  • Experience or strong interest in DOTS, ECS, and the C# Job System.
  • Production experience with Git or Perforce.
  • Experience delivering training, technical talks, or technical articles.
  • Awareness of AI/ML workflows and emerging technologies.
