TL;DR
Junior Secondary Design Engineer (f/m/d) (HV/MV Substations): Designing protection and control systems for high- and medium-voltage substations, including circuit diagrams, network architectures, auxiliary system calculations, and technical documentation with an accent on power-system engineering and secondary protection. Focus on developing compliant substation designs, sizing cables and batteries, reviewing customer specifications, and coordinating technical deliverables with engineers and suppliers.

Location: Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina; flexible working times and home office opportunity.

What you will do

  • Support the design of protection and control panels for high- and medium-voltage substations.
  • Create circuit diagrams, wiring schematics, assembly drawings, single-line diagrams, communication network architectures, and protection block diagrams.
  • Assist with auxiliary system design, including AC/DC calculations, cable sizing, and battery sizing.
  • Review customer specifications with senior engineers and help develop compliant technical solutions.
  • Prepare technical documentation, equipment specifications, and cable schedules with engineering specialists and suppliers.
  • Participate in project meetings, track engineering progress, and support quality and compliance checks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and interest in secondary protection and control systems.
  • Strong analytical thinking, curiosity, and a proactive approach to technical problem-solving.
  • Effective written and spoken English communication skills are required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in multicultural engineering teams.

  • University projects, internships, coursework, or thesis experience in power systems, substations, or electrical engineering.
