Propulsion Functional Systems Engineer (Aerospace)

The Exploration Company develops innovative aerospace technologies for the future of space transportation, including the Nyx spacecraft and its propulsion systems.

What you will do

• Develop and refine the functional architecture for Nyx Earth Propulsion System development models.
• Define representative and testable propulsion setups with pressure and feed system engineers.
• Create test plans, data acquisition approaches, analysis methods, and reporting for propulsion subsystems.
• Design propulsion analysis and post-processing tools and anchor fluidic models against test data.
• Support on-site propulsion test campaigns, analyze results in real time, and resolve testing anomalies.
• Conduct pre-test and post-test reviews, prepare reports, and identify performance indicators and critical scenarios.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related engineering discipline.
• More than 3 years of experience with complex fluid systems, fluidic modeling, data analysis, and data post-processing.
• Strong fundamentals in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and combustion principles.
• Proficiency in Python for fluid analysis, data post-processing, and model anchoring.
• Experience with EcosimPro or similar software for high-fidelity numerical twin analysis.
• Fluency in English and availability to work in Bordeaux, France, including on-site test campaigns.

• Experience with test facilities or storable propulsion systems.
• Experience with storable or cryogenic propulsion fluidic systems.
• Experience with EcosimPro.
• Space industry experience and enthusiasm for advancing European space transportation.
