Platform Engineer (Infrastructure/Kubernetes & AWS)

Location: Tokyo, Japan — Shibuya Headquarters; the office will move to Shinjuku in April 2027. Relocation support to Japan is available.

Annual salary: 8,000,000–10,500,000 JPY, including English Allowance and Physical Communication Bonus.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain the Internal Developer Platform for hirify.global One.
• Build platform capabilities using Kubernetes, AWS, Terraform, ArgoCD, Helm, and related cloud-native technologies.
• Define the platform architecture, roadmap, and future technical direction.
• Collaborate with product development teams to onboard applications onto the platform.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and engineering decision-making.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional experience with production Kubernetes on cloud, preferably AWS EKS.
• At least 3 years of experience building and managing AWS infrastructure with Terraform.
• Hands-on experience with ArgoCD, Kustomize, Helm charts, and GitHub Actions pipelines.
• Ability to take technical initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate effectively.
• Fluent English at CEFR B2 level or above; Japanese is not required.
• Ability to work at the Tokyo headquarters.

Nice to have

• Experience with custom Kubernetes controllers, Kyverno, Backstage, or similar Internal Developer Portal frameworks.
• Experience with observability tools such as OpenTelemetry and Grafana/LGTM.
• AWS, Kubernetes, or Terraform certifications and strong AWS security knowledge.
• Contributions to CNCF open-source projects or cloud-native conferences.
• Conversational Japanese for coordination with vendors and local communities.

Hiring process

• Online coding challenge, followed by CV and cover letter submission.
• Casual HR interview, two or three engineering interviews, and a CEO interview.
• The coding challenge is the only technical assessment; there are no live coding sessions.
