AI Product Engineer

Location: San Francisco, United States; remote listed, with the role marked as on-site

Salary: $180,000–$250,000 for L4 Mid-level and $220,000–$300,000 for L5 Senior, plus equity.

Wispr Flow is an AI research and product company developing voice interfaces for computing, including Flow and Notetaker.

What you will do

• Explore fast voice actions, computer use, and novel interaction patterns.
• Develop hypotheses, prototypes, and experiments for new product ideas.
• Build and evolve an in-house model harness for human-computer interaction.
• Improve memory and context retrieval across interaction modalities.
• Partner with the ML team to create a bidirectional product–model feedback loop.
• Evaluate ideas and take promising concepts through product direction and implementation.

Requirements

• Experience taking an ambiguous idea from hypothesis through prototype and user or internal testing.
• Ability to explore multiple directions and stop ideas when evidence does not support them.
• Experience building products or prototypes that changed how people interact with computers, or demonstrated strength in identifying new interaction patterns.
• Experience collaborating with researchers or technical partners where product needs and model capabilities influence one another.
• Experience shipping a prototype or product, or demonstrating rigorous experiments and learning.
• Ability to communicate work through concrete artifacts, technical or product writing, or demos.

Nice to have

• Experience across HCI, product, and machine learning is not required; rapid learning and strong judgment are valued.
