Threat Detection Analyst III (Cybersecurity)

Location: New York, New York, United States; onsite

Base salary: $145,000–$170,000 per year, depending on skills and experience.

What you will do

• Lead complex investigations across corporate networks, endpoints, data centers, cloud environments, and other critical systems.
• Develop, tune, and optimize detection logic across SIEM, EDR, and other security platforms.
• Partner with Engineering, Infrastructure, and related teams to identify root causes, communicate risk, and drive remediation.
• Apply threat intelligence, automation, data, and AI-enabled tools to identify attack patterns and improve investigation workflows.
• Mentor analysts, establish playbooks and standards, and improve Security Operations processes, documentation, and tooling.
• Participate in the Security Operations on-call rotation and respond to critical incidents outside standard working hours when needed.

Requirements

• 8+ years of cybersecurity experience, including 5+ years in security operations, threat detection, incident response, or a related field.
• Deep knowledge of SIEM, EDR, and security monitoring technologies, including complex event investigation and detection engineering.
• Experience applying threat intelligence and frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK, NIST CSF, or ISO 27001.
• Experience with data, automation, scripting, and AI-enabled security tools.
• Ability to solve complex security problems independently, communicate findings hirify.globally, build cross-functional relationships, and mentor analysts.
• Experience working across teams to deliver strategic, program-level security goals.

Nice to have

• Certifications such as GCIH, GCIA, or OSCP.
