Director of Portfolio Management

Location: Remote, associated with Brentwood, Tennessee, United States

Salary: $125,000–$155,000 annually, plus eligibility for an annual performance incentive.

What you will do

• Build, implement, champion, and continuously improve enterprise portfolio governance practices.
• Manage the demand and project selection cycle, including Enterprise Review Board submissions, prioritization, selection, and communications.
• Establish portfolio and project KPIs, analyze metrics, and provide transparent reporting to senior leadership and the Enterprise Review Board using ServiceNow.
• Maintain enterprise portfolio roadmaps, assess portfolio health, and facilitate decisions involving prioritization, trade-offs, risks, issues, and continued execution.
• Lead process analysis, improvement initiatives, training, coaching, and adoption of portfolio management practices.
• Serve as a servant leader for the Portfolio Management team, overseeing development, performance, staffing, budgets, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of senior-level experience managing projects, programs, and portfolios in complex, multifunctional organizations using traditional, hybrid, and/or agile delivery methods.
• 5+ years of Portfolio Governance experience and 5+ years in a people leadership role.
• 5+ years of management consulting experience in a program management capacity.
• Experience with demand management, portfolio prioritization, reporting, resource management, project stage gates, governance, risk management, and complex business and IT initiatives.
• Strong facilitation, communication, negotiation, conflict management, stakeholder influence, and team leadership skills; healthcare or IT experience is strongly preferred.

Nice to have

• PMI-ACP and/or PMP certification.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
• PfMP certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Experience with organizational change management and non-traditional project management methodologies.
