TL;DR
Marine Superintendent MODU Assurance (Marine Operations/MODU): Overseeing barge and rig moves, marine assurance, vessel audits, OVID inspections, and fleet monitoring in Port Harcourt with an accent on offshore vessel compliance, dynamic positioning, and operational safety. Focus on conducting inspections, managing anomalies and corrective actions, supporting vessel acceptance, and coaching contractor crews across offshore and port operations.

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers, Nigeria. Rotational regime of 4 weeks on/4 weeks off, working 7 days per week, with frequent movement between offshore sites, vessels, ports, the base, and vessel operator technical support locations.

hirify.global is recruiting for a client that operates as an exploration and production company.

What you will do

  • Provide marine expertise to GSR, Projects, ECP, Drilling, Production, General Services, and HSE departments.
  • Oversee barge and rig moves and support call-for-tender activities with contract engineers.
  • Implement the affiliate marine assurance plan, including audits and inspections of offshore support vessels and shore-based technical organizations.
  • Conduct OVID inspections and verify MODU and dynamically positioned vessel compliance with company design and operational requirements.
  • Monitor the marine fleet for HSE compliance and operational excellence through onboard and port visits.
  • Develop procedures, report and resolve anomalies, provide contractor feedback, and coach personnel on marine best practices.

Requirements

  • Class 1 Master or Chief Engineer certificate under STCW95.
  • At least 10 years of seagoing experience.
  • At least 5 years as Chief Officer/Captain or 2nd Engineer/Chief Engineer on offshore vessels such as AHTS, PSV, IMR, or MODU.
  • DPO or DP technician certificate.
  • Proven achievement in marine operations.
  • Fluent spoken and written English required.

Nice to have

  • Valid OVID inspector accreditation, or eligibility for the OVID inspector training course.
