AI/ML Technical Manager

Location: Remote in Mexico; Mexico City, Mexico. Travel may include up to 10% domestic or international travel.

What you will do

• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary AI/ML technical team, including AI engineers and data engineers.
• Architect and guide AI/ML solutions from problem framing and feasibility assessment through proof of concept, pilot, production deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Apply traditional machine learning, deep learning, statistical modeling, large language models, generative AI, retrieval-augmented generation, and agentic AI to complex business problems.
• Partner with product, engineering, data science, platform, architecture, and business stakeholders to define scope, success metrics, integrations, deployment requirements, and adoption plans.
• Build scalable and reliable AI systems with rigorous evaluation of performance, robustness, fairness, explainability, data quality, and edge cases.
• Ensure compliance with documentation, governance, privacy, security, regulatory, and responsible AI requirements while communicating strategy, risks, milestones, and outcomes to senior stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, or a related technical field, plus 10 years of job-related experience.
• At least 8 years of experience in AI/ML roles with a record of delivering production AI solutions.
• At least 3 years of experience managing and developing technical teams.
• Professional English proficiency is required for regular collaboration across global teams.
• Strong knowledge of traditional AI and machine learning techniques, including deep learning, decision trees, random forests, optimization, and statistical modeling.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, transformer architectures, RAG systems, and agentic or autonomous AI architectures.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or PhD in artificial intelligence, machine learning, or a related field.
• Experience launching multiple AI products or programs in parallel, especially in healthcare, medtech, or other regulated industries.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary AI research and development teams.
• Familiarity with Azure, AWS, GCP, and external AI technologies or vendors.
• Experience improving end-to-end processes and developing diverse technical teams.
