Focus on rotating through thoracic surgery services, managing complex health problems, supporting post-surgical patients, and participating in education, quality improvement, and research.
Location: 676 N. St. Clair, Chicago, Illinois, United States; onsite inpatient role. Schedule: Monday–Friday 12-hour day shifts, with some Saturday–Sunday 8-hour day shifts; no nights.
Salary: USD 63–82.28 per hour

What you will do
- Provide direct inpatient clinical care across the thoracic surgery operating room, post-surgical unit, and Chest Procedure Service.
- Conduct health histories, physical examinations, comprehensive patient assessments, and evaluations for further care.
- Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, medications, therapies, and procedures within clinical privileges.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals while referring patients to appropriate disciplines.
- Educate patients, families, staff, students, and external groups on relevant clinical topics.
- Participate in quality improvement, research, committees, continuing education, and advanced-practice mentoring.
Requirements
- Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
- First Assist Certification for APRNs.
- Current Physician Assistant license in the State of Illinois.
- Privilege and credentialing through the Medical Staff Office.
- Basic Life Support certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Maintain certifications and continuing education required for licensure and privileging.
