Internship - Trade/Product Classification Engineer

Location: Dalmine, Bergamo, Italy; hybrid work model

What you will do

• Classify hirify.global products, software, technologies, purchased goods, and raw materials under export control and customs regulations.
• Manage product master data, including descriptions, HTS codes, and ECN/ECCN numbers, and support customs declarants with required information.
• Research products and prepare Product Classification Reports.
• Analyze upcoming and shipped goods, identify regulatory risks, and support customs declarations, inspections, and short-notice requests.
• Collect long-term supplier declarations covering preferential and non-preferential origin.
• Review classifications with the Trade Compliance Officer and develop digitalization improvements for classification processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
• Good knowledge of English and Italian.
• Strong communication, responsiveness, business mindset, data analysis skills, attention to detail, and an ability to work with procurement, trade, product, industrialization, and sales functions.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of SAP and SAP Global Trade Services.
• Knowledge of Power BI.
• Technical knowledge of products, export control, and customs rules and regulations.
