Head of Recruitment

Location: On-site in Almaty, Kazakhstan

What you will do

• Lead the Almaty recruiting and coordination organization, setting priorities, standards, and recruiter capacity planning.
• Coach recruiters and coordinators, improve candidate assessment, and develop future recruiting leaders.
• Design a fast, consistent, and scalable end-to-end hiring process from intake and interview design through offer and onboarding handoff.
• Establish Ashby as the central source of truth and implement structured scorecards, decision ownership, and interview standards.
• Own recruiting reporting, pipeline visibility, funnel analysis, capacity planning, and hiring forecasts for leadership.
• Advise executives and hiring managers on talent strategy, market dynamics, compensation, interviewer accountability, and candidate experience.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience leading recruiting teams or recruiting operations.
• Proven experience scaling hiring in a high-growth technology company and building recruiting processes, reporting, and team rituals from the ground up.
• Deep ATS expertise; Ashby experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong executive presence and the ability to influence senior leaders, with a data-driven approach to recruiting metrics and dashboards.
• Excellent written and verbal English and Russian.
• Experience with both technical and non-technical full-cycle recruiting.

Nice to have

• Experience building recruiting teams in Kazakhstan, Central Asia, or the CIS.
• Experience with recruiting automation and AI sourcing tools.
