Senior Cabinet Maker (Trade Shows & Events) (Custom Millwork/Fabrication): Building one-of-a-kind cabinetry, exhibits, branded environments, and specialty components for trade shows and experiential events with an accent on precision woodworking, advanced fabrication, and high-end finishes. Focus on leading shop-floor work, solving complex construction challenges, mentoring craftspeople, and taking projects from drawings to finished pieces.

What you will do
- Fabricate, assemble, and finish custom cabinetry, millwork, exhibits, counters, kiosks, fixtures, and specialty scenic components.
- Read and interpret shop drawings, CAD plans, blueprints, and design specifications.
- Use precision cutting, shaping, laminating, joinery, and complex assembly techniques across wood products, laminates, veneers, and specialty substrates.
- Inspect work for accuracy, quality, durability, and finish, taking projects from fabrication through completion.
- Lead from the shop floor by mentoring cabinet makers, assigning work, reviewing builds, and troubleshooting fabrication challenges.
- Partner with foremen, production managers, project managers, and detailing teams to improve drawings, methods, workflow, material usage, and shop efficiency.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in cabinet making, custom millwork, finish carpentry, architectural woodworking, or a related trade.
- Strong experience with high-end custom fabrication and at least 1 year leading projects, mentoring others, or working as a senior craftsperson.
- Advanced ability to use woodworking machinery, power tools, and shop equipment.
- Experience with wood products, laminates, veneers, specialty materials, and CAD-generated plans.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple builds, and flexibility to work overtime when required.
- Work is based in Oakville, Ontario, Canada.
Nice to have
- Experience building custom exhibits, trade show displays, retail fixtures, or experiential environments.
- CNC fabrication experience.
- Experience collaborating with designers, engineers, detailers, project managers, and production teams.
- Interest in teaching others and continuously improving fabrication practices.
