What you will do
- Lead technical cooperation with the Government of Indonesia on REDD+, forest monitoring, climate finance, and forest and land-use emissions reduction.
- Coordinate activities under the UN-REDD programme and related forestry initiatives, including monitoring, reporting, and implementation of work plans.
- Support national forest inventory planning, GHG inventories, satellite monitoring, geospatial datasets, and MRV systems at national and jurisdictional levels.
- Coordinate technical assistance on peatlands, mangroves, forest restoration, social forestry, sustainable commodity supply chains, and the FOLU Net Sink 2030 agenda.
- Act as the day-to-day interlocutor with Indonesian government institutions, UNEP, UNDP, development partners, and other stakeholders.
- Lead multidisciplinary technical teams, organize planning sessions, prepare reports, and provide technical guidance to national and international experts.
Requirements
- Must be a national of Indonesia.
- Advanced university degree in agriculture, agricultural economics, forestry, fisheries, or a related field.
- At least one year of relevant experience in agricultural development or project implementation.
- Working proficiency in English and Indonesian or another local language is required.
- Relevant experience in REDD+, forest and climate policies, climate finance, UNFCCC frameworks, forest monitoring, MRV, GHG inventories, geospatial technologies, or remote sensing.
- Experience coordinating government institutions, development partners, experts, and multidisciplinary teams, with strong analytical, drafting, and communication skills.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with , UN-REDD, or other UN programme management procedures.
- Experience with resource mobilization, partnership development, and donor engagement.
- Knowledge of peatland and mangrove ecosystems, forest restoration, social forestry, sustainable commodity supply chains, and Indonesia's climate commitments.
